Evidence presented to police suggested that Wayne J. Allaire was trying to persuade the minor to engage in sexual activity with him, Acting Police Chief Jason Tamulen said on Facebook.
The evidence, which included documents and chats between both individuals, was then reviewed by a private investigator. From there an investigation was launched and Allaire was arrested on Monday, Sept. 26, Tamulen said.
Allaire appeared on charges of enticement of a minor under 16 and obscene matter to minors in Gardner District Court on Tuesday, police said. The maximum sentence for this offense is up to five years in station prison and registration with the Sex Offender Registry Board.
