Alix Ulloa-Hernandez, 34, of Vinton, Virginia, was arrested Saturday, Sept. 2, following the fight at a Super 8 Motel in Sturbridge, Sturbridge police said. He is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace, and was being held on a $7,500 cash bail, authorities said.

Police were called to the 358 Main Street motel just after 8 p.m. and found several broken bottles, a bloody knife, and a pool of blood on the ground.

Witnesses told police that coworkers from a roofing company out of Georgia were having a party when an argument broke out over who did the best work. As the argument heated, Ulloa-Hernandez allegedly pulled a knife from his pocket and slashed the coworker he thought was beneath him in skill, according to a Facebook post from the Sturbridge Police Department

Officers found Ulloa-Hernandez in a motel room with blood on his skin and shoes, police said. They also located a pair of blood-stained pants that were soaking wet as if someone had tried to wash them. There was a bloody knife in one of the pockets, authorities said.

The victim was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other men who were at the party were given summons to return on charges of disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct, Sturbridge police said.
