Officers responded to Worcester Technical High just after 3 a.m. on Friday, June 2, after receiving a Shotspotter activation, Worcester police said. They found a 22-year-old man bleeding from a gunshot wound.
Responders rushed him to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators do not believe he has a connection to the school, and it's unclear why he was there.
Worcester Tech administrators sent a message to staff and students to reassure them that everyone was safe and classes would continue as usual, officials said. Though, there will be an increased police presence at the building on Friday.
