Nathan Miranda, of Winchendon, was arrested and charged with OUI-Drugs, OUI-Drugs causing serious injury, possession of a Class B drug, and other motor vehicle offenses, Massachusetts State Police said.

The crash happened just before 9:15 a.m. near mile marker 82 in Charlton7 when Miranda's 2017 Dodge 1500 hit a box truck, police said. The 34-year-old Everett man behind the wheel of the box truck was trapped inside the wrecked vehicle after it flipped over on its side in the wreck.

Firefighters cut him from the truck and airlifted the seriously injured man to a hospital. Officials did not release the man's name.

Lanes in both directions remain closed as of 2:30 p.m., and drivers should expect major delays until police can clean, clear, and investigate the scene.
