Strong Winds, Dry Conditions Raise Fire Risk Through Weekend In Northeast: 5-Day Forecast Lingering dry conditions, couple with strong winds, will lead to an increased risk of fire spread through the weekend. Wind speeds on Friday, Nov. 15 will be 10 to 15 miles per hour with gusts up to 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Low humidity values of 20 to 25 percent will enhance the risk of fires.
