A 58-year-old Hampden County woman is expected to spend the rest of her life behind bars for the brutal murder of a friend who was trying to help her, authorities said. Brenda Mayhew, of Three Rivers, was found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2021 fatal stabbing of Marcia Wilson in her home in Palmer, the Hampden District Attorney said. A 30-year-old man who was found guilty of the August 2019 killing of Stephanie Olivieri, a mother, in her car in Berkshire County was sentenced to life in prison, authorities announced on Tuesday, June 18.
