Ford Recalls 272K+ Vehicles For Sudden Battery Failure Linked To Crash Risk More than 272,000 Ford vehicles are being recalled because of defective 12-volt batteries that could degrade suddenly, causing power loss and increasing crash risk, officials said. Ford issued the recall for certain Maverick pickups and Bronco Sport SUVs, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. The recall affects Bronco Sport models from 2021-2023 and Maverick models from 2022-2023. Mass Woman Killed In Head-On Crash With Box Truck A Massachusetts woman was killed when she collided head-on with a box truck on a Hudson Valley road, police said.  The crash occurred on Monday, Dec. 2 at around 8:30 a.m., on John Simpson Road in the Putnam County town of Southeast, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office. According to authorities, a southbound Honda CRV crossed over the double yellow line and struck a northbound Isuzu box truck head-on. Fatal Crash: 21-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim On I-91 In Region A 21-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a crash on a stretch of I-91. It happened around 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Windsor. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling on the southbound Exit 35A off-ramp when it veered into the left shoulder and hit a metal guardrail, according to Connecticut State Police.  Both the operator, a 33-year-old Manchester man, and the passenger, identified as Valerie Ann Eaton of Hartford, were ejected from the motorcycle. Griswold Crash Leaves Massachusetts Trucker Dead A 42-year-old Middlesex County, Massachusetts, man died after crashing his truck down an embankment along I-395 in Connecticut. Tim Murray, of Ashby, crashed his Freightliner truck in Griswold, New London County between Exit 24 and 28 around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8 Construction had closed the southbound right-hand lane of the highway. As Murray merged into the left lane, his 2019 Freightliner hit a guardrail. Murray corrected the truck but not before striking another section of the guardrail.  The truck tumbled down an embankment.
