A 72-year-old Western Massachusetts man was killed Tuesday evening after being hit by a car in Western Massachusetts, authorities said. The man was crossing Route 10 near 412 Main Street in Easthampton when he was struck around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, according to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office. The victim was from Easthampton. Authorities did not release his name. The driver, a 39-year-old Westfield resident, remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, the DA's office said. Driver Charged With Killing 2 In Western Mass Crash Pleads Not Guilty: DA
A 64-year-old Hampshire County man accused of killing a man and woman as they crossed the street in Easthampton last year pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday, April 3, authorities said. Stuart Larkin, of South Hadley, faces up to five years in prison if convicted on two counts of negligent motor vehicle homicide and one count of speeding in connection with the August 2022 crash along Route 10, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Dead Body Found Floating In Connecticut River By Bicyclist
Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in the Connecticut River in Western Massachusetts. The body was found in Franklin County near Gill around 7:20 p.m. Monday, July 19, after a bicyclist spotted it floating in the river below the Route 10 bridge between Northfield and Gill, said Laurie Loisel, with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.
