A York woman plotted an elaborate scheme to steal more than $1 million from the IRS by filing fake tax documents and a bogus check, federal prosecutors announced on Wednesday, August 13.
Queen Naja, 44, also known as Renata Winifred Ince and Naja Talibah Zahir, worked with 42-year-old Quentin Diego Sturgeon of Montgomery, Alabama, to carry out the plan, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Alabama.

With a brand-new federal holiday proposal, Americans could soon have an additional day off between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The day, December 1, would be in honor of civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks has been proposed by Representative Terri Sewell of Alabama.
Called "the mother of the civil rights movement," Parks invigorated the struggle for racial equality when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama, on Dec. 1, 1955.

Whole Foods To Close Stores In Four States
Whole Foods will be shuttering the doors of six markets across four states, including one location in the North East, Amazon announced, according to a Bloomberg report.
Citing long-term goals, Amazon, which purchased Whole Foods for $13 billion in 2017, confirmed that some stores will soon be closing as they shift their business plan.
Stores will be closing in these locations:
Brookline, Massachusetts;
Montgomery and Mobile, Alabama;
Tarzana, California;

Yale Murder Suspect Nabbed In Alabama
United States Marshals have arrested a man believed to be responsible for the February shooting death of a Yale grad student in Connecticut.
Qinxuan Pan, age 29, an MIT researcher, was arrested on Friday, May 14, in Montgomery, Alabama, US Marshals said. They did not say where in Montgomery he was found.
Pan is the prime suspect in the shooting death of Kevin Jiang, age 26, who was shot to death on Lawrence Street between Nicoll and Nash streets in New Haven on Saturday, Feb. 6.
