Springfield police are partnering with local comedians to host two comedy show fundraisers for their fellow officer, who was shot in the head during an attack. Springfield police are asking the public to donate to help one of their own after he was shot in the head last week, which could leave him blind in one eye. Officer Nestor Santos was seriously injured after he was attacked on Thursday, June 6, while sitting in his unmarked police car in the 600 block of State Street while on his way to work around 10:30 p.m., Springfield police authorities said.
