Man Who Gunned Down Ex-Springfield Mom, Infant In. CT Drive-By Busted In Puerto Rico: Police A 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a young mother and her infant son in Connecticut was arrested in Puerto Rico, authorities announced. Lance Morales, the suspect in the drive-by shooting that killed 20-year-old Jessiah Mercado and her 4-month-old son, Messiah Diaz, was taken into custody Saturday, Nov. 23, by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Marshal Service said.  He was found at a home in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and is being held on a $3 million bond. Fatal Crash: 21-Year-Old Woman ID'd As Victim On I-91 In Region A 21-year-old Connecticut woman was killed in a crash on a stretch of I-91. It happened around 5:10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 in Windsor. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling on the southbound Exit 35A off-ramp when it veered into the left shoulder and hit a metal guardrail, according to Connecticut State Police.  Both the operator, a 33-year-old Manchester man, and the passenger, identified as Valerie Ann Eaton of Hartford, were ejected from the motorcycle. Man Struck, Killed On I-91 In Springfield ID'd As 54-Year-Old Police have identified the man who they say was hit by a car and was killed while crossing I-91 South in Springfield Thursday morning, Aug. 8.  Dominic Brad, 54, of Hartford, Connecticut, was hit by a Toyota Corolla just after 2 a.m. near mile marker 4.8, Springfield police said.  Officers shut down I-91 South for hours as they cleaned, cleared, and investigated the crash. The road re-opened to normal traffic around 6 p.m.  Officers are investigating the circumstances that led up to the crash.

Chicopee Woman ID'd As Victim In Fatal CT Hit-Run Crash A 40-year-old Hampden County woman was identified as the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash Wednesday night, June 19, in Hartford. The car that hit her was later found abandoned and on fire.  Lutricia Daniels, of Chicopee, was walking along Main Street at 11:55 p.m. when a Honda Accord slammed into her and sped away, Hartford police said.
