Drummer Departs Emo Rock Band After 25 Years Over Sobriety, Creative Issues The drummer of a well-known emo and pop-punk bank from Long Island said he has left the group, citing sobriety and creative differences. After 25 years of rocking out with Taking Back Sunday, Mark O'Connell announced his departure from the band in an Instagram post on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
