Woman Dies After Phone Charger Explodes, Sparking Massive Recall
Nearly 430,000 wireless phone chargers are being recalled again after reports of fires, explosions, and a death linked to the devices.
The recall affects about 429,200 Casely Power Pods 5000mAh portable MagSafe wireless power banks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission just announced. The portable chargers were previously recalled in April 2025.
Casely has received 28 new reports of the lithium-ion batteries overheating, expanding, or catching fire. The Brooklyn, New York, importer reported 51 similar incidents during the first recall, including six minor burn injuries.
