78-Year-Old Man ID'd As Pedestrian Killed In Wakefield Crash Police have identified the 78-year-old man who was hit and killed by a car pulling out of a driveway in Wakefield earlier this week.  Joseph Dow, 78, of Wakefield, was hit on Wednesday, Aug. 21, by a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E along Water Street, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said.  Paramedics rushed Dow to  Melrose/Wakefield Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.  The driver, a 38-year-old woman, remained at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.

They selected to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity. The winner bought the ticket at a Mobil gas station at 950 Main St. in Wakefield. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.
