A 28-year-old North Andover woman has been charged with killing someone after crashing into a building while intoxicated and speeding off, authorities said.
Vickiana Vargas-Guevara, age 28, of North Andover was charged with motor vehicle homicide while under the influence of alcohol and being negligent, motor vehicle homicide by reckless operation, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death; leaving the scene of property damage, operating under the influence of liquor, and reckless operation, the Essex County District Attorney said.

A person who was reported as being passed out in their car in a Walmart parking lot had over a hundred grams of drugs and thousands in cash, officials say.
Andrew Brace, of North Andover, was found to have 108 grams of cocaine, 3.6 grams of fentanyl, and $2,515 in cash when police responded the report on the evening of Thursday, March 16, according to the Methuen Police Department.

Two 25-year-old women were killed in a multi-car pile-up over the weekend after a tow truck crashed into the ride-share SUV they were riding in on I-93 in Boston, police said.
Delanie Fekert, of Floral Park, NY, and Urashi Madani, of North Andover, were in the passenger seats of a 2007 Lexus RX400H driving north on the interstate around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, when the driver quickly slowed down for unknown reasons near exit 20, Massachusetts State Police said. The Essex County District Attorney announced on Wednesday that investigators believe they have solved the killing of 20-year-old college student Claire Gravel, a cold case that has stumped police for 36 years.
