Here's Time Frame For System Bringing Strong To Severe Thunderstorms
A system packed with scattered, potentially potent thunderstorms is headed for the region. The storm chance will start late in the morning on Friday, Aug. 26, before showers and storms are expected during the afternoon into the evening, the National Weather Service said. Some of the storms "may trigger isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rainfall," the weather service said. Unsettled Stretch Will Bring Separate Storm Chances, Much-Needed Relief From Drought Conditions
As brown lawns abound, there is relief on the way from the drought conditions that have been escalating throughout the Northeast. Separate storm chances are expected to start a more unsettled stretch of weather that could bring more frequent precipitation. There could be some precipitation at times on both Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17, according to the National Weather Service.
