Red Line Commuters Will See Major Change Starting Soon
Commuters will have to take shuttle buses between Alewife and Harvard stations in Cambridge beginning next week as the MBTA makes "critical track" repairs to the Red Line. Work will run from Monday, Feb. 5, through Feb. 14, the MBTA announced on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Beginning at around 8:45 p.m. during the same period, the Red Line suspension will extend to Park Street, meaning evening service will be suspended between Alewife and Park Street stations. Alewife Station Red Line Service Resumes, Medford Driver Charged
After a driver intentionally crashed into Alewife Station and stopped breathing before being resuscitated, the station is reopening to commuters, albeit with few changes and reduced capacity. Red Line service at Alewife Station is resuming on Friday, Feb. 10, according to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Unprovoked Attacks On Asian Women In Cambridge Leads To Charges: DA
Authorities have charged a 53-year-old Cambridge man with attacking two Asian women without reason or remorse last year, officials announced on Tuesday, Jan. 17.Alexander Ivaneko faces charges of assault and battery on a person over 60 causing injury, assault and battery, two counts of assault and battery to intimidate, and two counts of civil rights violation with injury, the Suffolk County District Attorney said. : Elderly Man From Belmont Missing For Several Days
UPDATE: Belmont Police said Nordlund was found safe on Sunday, Sept. 18. The Belmont Police Department is seeking the public's help in locating an elderly man who has been missing for days. Robert Nordlund was last seen several days ago in the area of Hill Estates of Belmont, police said on Sunday, Sept. 18. Nordlund is described as standing 5'10" and frequents the bike path near Alewife Station on the Red Line and sometimes rides the train.
