$1M Lottery Ticket Sold On Nantucket

One lucky Baystater is $1 million richer after picking up a massive payday playing the Massachusetts State Lottery on Monday, March 11.

Jose Fontanez of Boston bought the seven-figure ticket at Old South Diner at 57 Old South Road in Nantucket. The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

He won the cash playing the "$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks" $10 scratch-off game. He was in Nantucket to visit his girlfriend.

Fontanez chose to take the lump sum of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity.

Fontanez plans to use that money to buy a house.

The win was one of 677 winning tickets claimed on Monday worth $650 or more.
