Jackpot!: $1M Lottery Ticket Sold In Newton One Bay Stater had a life-changing moment on Saturday, Aug. 3, when they correctly guessed the numbers in a multi-state lottery and won $1 million.  The winner purchased a Powerball ticket in Newton and got all five drawn numbers right, but they missed the Powerball, which would have netted them more than $174 million.  The winning numbers were: 13, 33, 40, 60, and 61, with the Powerball being 20.  The winner's name has not been released.  The winning ticket was purchased at Quik Stop at 293 Watertown St. in Newton. The store will get $10,000 for the sale.  …

The winner claimed the ticket on Thursday, June 27. $2M Lottery Jackpot: Mass Man Knows How He'll Spend His Winnings A Hyannis man said he has big plans for the $2 million jackpot he won playing in the Massachusetts State Lottery.  Garen Downie won the seven-figure prize playing the "Lifetime Millions," a $50 scratch-off game. This is the fourth $1 million or more winner in that game since February.  Downie chose to take the lump sum payment of $1.3 million (before taxes) rather than the annuity.  He said he would invest that money.  He bought the ticket at Old South Diner at 57 Old South Rd. in Nantucket. The store will get a $20,000 bonus for the sale.
