Motorcyclist Killed In Head-On Groton Collision Remembered For His Compassion, Love Of Animals
The family and friends of a 27-year-old man killed in a head-on collision earlier this month in Groton said he was a kind and loving young man with an accomplished past and bright future. Cody Trudel, of Ayer, was killed just after 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, when a car drifted over the center line on Boston Road and collided with him, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office said. UMass Lowell Alum Reflects On Being First Above Knee Amputee On 'Survivor'
A New England athlete who become the first above knee amputee to compete on a popular reality competition show has no plans of slowing down after being voted off the show this past week. Noelle Lambert, a New Hampshire native who played Division I lacrosse for UMass Lowell, finished in the top 8 on season 43 of "Survivor." After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Lambert went on to make the US Paralympic Team in 2019. UMass System Gets $50M Gift, Largest In School History
The University of Massachusetts received a windfall from a pair of alumni that represents the largest cash gift in the school’s history. UMass announced that Robert J. and Donna Manning have provided a $50 million gift that is “aimed at increasing access and opportunity across the five-campus university system.” Moving forward, the first $15 million will be used to endow the UMass Boston nursing program, which will be renamed as the Robert and Donna Manning College of Nursing and Health Sciences in honor of the pair.
