A Connecticut native who survived the deadliest mass shooting in the state's history is speaking out after witnessing another deadly shooting at a college in the Midwest this week. A retired NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley received the longest prison sentence to date among those convicted of taking part in riots at the US Capitol on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. Orange County resident Thomas Webster, age 56, of the village of Florida, was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison Thursday, Sept. 1, after a jury convicted him of assaulting a Washington, DC police officer with a deadly weapon. This Massachusetts City Wants To Decriminalize All Drug Use - Especially Magic Mushrooms
In a radical shift from longstanding U.S. policy, a second Massachusetts city is moving toward decriminalizing entheogenic plants - aka psychedelic mushrooms. On Wednesday, Feb. 3, the Cambridge City Council approved an order asking the District Attorney and local law enforcement not to arrest or prosecute people for possessing, using, and distributing entheogenic plants.
