City officials and Yale University are speaking out after a masked man climbed a public menorah on the New Haven Green and put a Palestinian flag on the structure. 'Pharmageddon': CVS, Walgreens Protests Spread As Workers Seek Better Conditions
Around a thousand pharmacy workers across the country have walked off the job as part of a strike to protest conditions. The so-called "Pharmageddon" series of walkouts at pharmacy chains including CVS and Walgreens stores started Monday, Oct. 30, and is expected to continue at least through the middle of the week. The child of a Massachusetts State Representative was among two people arrested at a demonstration that echoed the message of another protest decrying the shooting of an activist by police in the South. Police responded to a call about a protest at the Parkman Bandstand Monument in the Boston Common on Tremont Street around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, according to the Boston Police Department. Connecticut State Police arrested 20 nursing home and long-term care workers after they entered a state office building and refused to leave during a protest calling for better wages and health care.
