Ex-Mass State Senator Accused Of Fraud Now Charged With Lying About 'Sham Job Offer': Feds
A former state senator already facing 28 counts of fraud and tax evasion is now accused of lying about a fake job offer at his sister's company, federal authorities said.
Dean Tran, 48, of Fitchburg, was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice and one count of making a false statement. Tran's sister, Tuyet T. Martin, 54, of Pelham, New Hampshire, was indicted on two counts of obstruction of justice and one count of perjury, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.

A single-vehicle crash in New Hampshire over the weekend led to a Massachusetts man getting charged with driving under the influence, authorities said.
State Troopers responded to the crash on Mammoth Road near the Lt. Elmer G. Raymond Athletic Fields in Pelham just before 2 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21, Pelham Police said on Facebook.

Two men have been charged in separate criminal complaints with conspiracy and fraud offenses stemming from their alleged involvement in construction project fraud schemes.
New Haven County resident Don Richards, age 53, of Milford, and William Sacco, age 48, of Pelham, New Hampshire, were arrested in connection with the case, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Both men were described in a criminal complaint as senior project managers at a Massachusetts mechanical contracting company during the time of the scheme.
