Health officials have pinpointed the specific ingredient that triggered an E. coli outbreak at McDonald’s that killed one person and sickened dozens more across several states. Testing done by the Colorado Department of Agriculture eliminated Quarter Pounder beef patties as the source of the outbreak, McDonald’s confirmed on Sunday, Oct. 27. Eye Drops Tainted With Bacteria Now Linked To 4 Deaths, Dozens Of Infections, CDC Says
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says four deaths and dozens of infections have now been linked to eye drops tainted with bacteria. Patients who have used EzriCare or Delsam Pharma’s artificial tears and Delsam Pharma artificial ointment and who have signs or symptoms of an eye infection should seek medical care immediately, the CDC said. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is warning about eye drops tainted with bacteria that are now being linked to three deaths and dozens of infections. In addition, eight people have reported vision loss and there have been four reports of eyes being removed after the drops were used. A total of 68 people in 16 states have been identified as having infections of a rare strain of drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa never before reported in the United States before this outbreak, according to the CDC. Man Tricked, Abused Women To Work As Prostitutes Throughout Northeast: Feds
A Rhode Island man who pleaded guilty to coercing multiple women to work as prostitutes and using violence to keep them in line will spend 18 years in prison, federal authorities said. Ronald Hall, 48, of Woonsocket, admitted in August to the near decade-long operation and pleaded guilty to four counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion and one count of transportation of an individual to engage in prostitution, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. In addition to the 18 years behind bars, Hall must also pay restitution to his victims. A judge will set that amount later.…

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey joined other Democrat state attorneys generals to file an amicus brief in a class action lawsuit that seeks to nullify portions of Texas' new abortion law. A 35-year-old Massachusetts man was killed in a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a pickup truck. Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in the Worcester County town of Charlton at about 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, Massachusetts State Police reported.
