A Maryland man pleaded guilty in federal court in Boston to stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from a high-end outlet store in Massachusetts and then attempting to take the haul back to the DC area, federal authorities announced. Baltimore native Nathaniel Owens, 33, admitted to his role in a smash and grab at the Gucci store in the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets in Wrentham with two others, according to officials. Owens, cohorts Linworth Hayes Crawford III and Ronald Patterson, Jr. were indicted by a federal grand jury in January 2023 following their arrests.…

Money Laundering: Western Mass Woman Gets 18 Months In $2M Stolen Goods Scheme, Feds Say
A Springfield woman who admitted to making more than $2 million buying and reselling stolen goods was sentenced to prison on Thursday, May 11, officials said. Mimi Mai, 50, will spend 18 months behind bars and two years on parole after she pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of stolen goods, four counts of money laundering, and two counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said.
