Massive Fireworks Haul Found During Routine Traffic Stop In Western Mass
State police stopped one of the most patriotic men in Massachusetts over the weekend. Police pulled over the 22-year-old Springfield man in Hatfield on Sunday, July 2, on Route 91 after a trooper noticed his insurance had been canceled. As the officer approached the 2019 Infiniti, they saw 64 boxes of fireworks in plain view, officials said. Over 1,000 Massachusetts patients are "stuck" in hospital beds when they should be discharged, creating a clogged system and treatment plan delays, a new report says. Nearly one out of every seven medical-surgical beds in Massachusetts hospitals is occupied by patients who are awaiting discharge and no longer need acute care, according to a report released on Monday, June 12 by the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association. Former Central Mass Asst Principal, Harvard Grad Dies From Medical Emergency While On Vacation
A 74-year-old former Worcester Public Schools teacher and administrator died last week after suffering a medical emergency while on vacation in Mexico, a fundraiser said. John McFadden, of Paxton, died Friday, March 3, after being airlifted from Cancun to UMass Medical Center in Worcester, his family wrote in a GoFundMe. They wrote McFadden suffered a stroke and took a hard fall, causing a traumatic brain injury. He underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain.
