Officers Close August Killing In Springfield With Bust Of 25-Year-Old Man: Police A 25-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and charged with the killing of 29-year-old Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia more than a month and a half ago, Springfield police said.  Edgardo DeJesus-Vazquez is accused of killing Hernandez-Garcia on Aug. 6 near the intersection of Hancock and Union Streets, Springfield police said. It's unclear what led to the killing.  Police were called to the area around 7:45 a.m. and found Hernandez-Garcia shot. Fatal Shooting Victim ID'd In Springfield; Police Searching For Killer Police released the name of the 29-year-old man gunned down Sunday, Aug. 6, in Springfield's South end.  Emmanuel Hernandez-Garcia was shot at 7:45 p.m. on Hancock Street near the intersection of Union Street, Springfield police said.  Paramedics rushed him to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died of his wounds.  Police urge anyone with information on the shooter or who may have witnessed anything related to the killing to contact detectives at 413-787-6355.
