Man Killed In 2-Car Crash In Western Mass
A man was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday night in Wilbraham, authorities said. The crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Boston Road. One of the drivers was airlifted to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, where they were pronounced dead, Wilbraham police said. The man's name was not released. Other people in the crash received serious injuries, but police did not release an update on their conditions Thursday. Woman Charged After Disturbance At Western Mass Bar
A 25-year-old Western Massachusetts woman was arrested for allegedly attacking police at an area bar and a man was placed in protective custody during the incident. Officers in Hampden County responded to the Daily Pint Bar in Wilbraham on Boston Road for a noise complaint early Sunday, Aug. 1. Upon arrival, officers observed several intoxicated parties who were refused service at the bar, according to the Wilbraham Police Department. DEP Fines These Local Businesses Over Alleged Environmental Violations
In January, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection fined 8 local businesses for failure to comply with previous enforcement orders. The DEP issued 79 enforcement orders statewide in January, according to the department’s database. Only 8 of those orders resulted in fines for Western Mass companies. There were no fines assessed in January for Central Massachusetts or Berkshire's businesses.
