Man Killed In 2-Car Crash In Western Mass
A man was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday night in Wilbraham, authorities said. The crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Boston Road. One of the drivers was airlifted to Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, where they were pronounced dead, Wilbraham police said. The man's name was not released. Other people in the crash received serious injuries, but police did not release an update on their conditions Thursday. One person has died following a single-vehicle rollover crash in Western Massachusetts this week, according to authorities. Police received multiple calls about a serious car crash on Wilbraham Street (Route 20) near North Main Street in Palmer around 10:22 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, Palmer Police report. Baystate Plans To Close Emergency And Cancer Care Satelite Facility By 2023
Baystate Health has plans to close one of its satellite emergency medical and cancer care facilities within the next two years. On Tuesday, Jan. 26, in a letter to the community, Baystate President Mark A. Keroack outlined the state and financial health of one of its satellite facilities in Western Massachusetts. The facility slated to be closed is the more than 100-year-old Baystate Mary Lane Outpatient Center in Ware, which provides emergency as well as cancer care and other services.
