$1M Lottery Jackpot: Fitchburg Has Newly Minted Millionaire This squeaky wheel is well-greased.  The Squeaky Wheel Trust has claimed a $1 million lottery jackpot. A trust allows the winner to remain anonymous.  Related: East Boston Woman Knows How She'll Spend Her $1 Million Jackpot The winner collected the payout by playing the Massachusetts State Lottery's “Lifetime Millions" game, a $50 scratch-off ticket.  They chose to take the lump sum payment of $650,000 (before taxes) rather than the annuity.  Honey Farms at 487 Princeton Road in Fitchburg sold the ticket. The store will get a $10,000 bonus for the sale.

Fatal Crash: 36-Year-Old Fitchburg Man ID'd As Victim On New York Roadway A motorist from Massachusetts was killed after his vehicle overturned on a Hudson Valley roadway. It happened just after 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct.19 in Rockland County on the Palisades Interstate Parkway (PIP) southbound, in the town of Ramapo. Ex-Mass State Senator Accused Of Fraud Now Charged With Lying About 'Sham Job Offer': Feds A former state senator already facing 28 counts of fraud and tax evasion is now accused of lying about a fake job offer at his sister's company, federal authorities said.  Dean Tran, 48, of Fitchburg, was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice and one count of making a false statement. Tran's sister, Tuyet T. $100K Lottery Ticket Sold In Fitchburg It was a very lucky day for one Bay Stater when they collected a check for $100,000 playing the Massachusetts State Lottery.  The winner claimed the ticket on Thursday, May 16. They purchased the "Quick $100s" ticket at Topps Liquor at 128 Water St. in Fitchburg.
