Mass Man Slipped Girlfriend Abortion Pill Disguised As Vitamins: DA A 43-year-old Brookline man is accused of giving his then-pregnant girlfriend an abortion pill but telling her it was a vitamin, causing her to have a miscarriage. authorities said Robert Kawada is charged with poisoning, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a pregnant person, and assault and battery on a household or family member, the Middlesex District Attorney said.  Watertown police believe Kawada gave the woman Misoprostol, a drug commonly used to end pregnancies.
