Weeks Of Southern State Parkway Closures Planned In Babylon Weeks of scheduled closures on Southern State Parkway could spell delays for drivers. In Babylon, the westbound Southern State Parkway will be closed between exit 39 and exit 32 weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 14. The closures will last approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, the New York State Department of Transportation said. The incident happened in Southampton, south of County Road 51 and Speonk Riverhead Road, at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9.
