Weeks Of Southern State Parkway Closures Planned In Babylon Weeks of scheduled closures on Southern State Parkway could spell delays for drivers. In Babylon, the westbound Southern State Parkway will be closed between exit 39 and exit 32 weeknights from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., beginning Monday, Oct. 14. The closures will last approximately five weeks to facilitate a pavement resurfacing project, the New York State Department of Transportation said. Wanted Driver Drags, Injures Deputy Following Traffic Stop In Bohemia, Police Say A Long Island man wanted by police tried fleeing a traffic stop, injuring a sheriff’s deputy in the process, authorities said. The incident happened in Bohemia on Lincoln Avenue, at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28. Suffolk County Sheriff’s officials said the deputy stopped 37-year-old Christopher Brown, of Holbrook, and informed him he was wanted on an arrest warrant out of Amityville. The warrant stemmed from charges of driving without a license and displaying illegal plates.
