Many Northeast states are among the most innovative in the US, according to a new study.
SmileHub released its 2025 list of Best States for Research and Development on Tuesday, Sept. 16. All 50 states were ranked across 17 metrics, including researchers per capita, research and development (R&D) spending, patents, research facilities, and STEM education.

Fans of Skittles will soon be able to spice things up with the brand's newest candy.
Skittles will release Gummies Fuego, a sweet-and-spicy twist on the classic candy. McLean, Virginia-based Mars Inc. announced the "swicy" flavor in a news release on Monday, Aug. 18.
The candy features a tangy chili coating to the gummies, which are a fusion of five Skittles flavors: mango, watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, and lemon.
