First Trailer For 'Beetlejuice' Sequel Drops; Hyped Movie Filmed In Mass "It's showtime" for the new Tim Burton-directed sequel to his 1988 classic "Beetlejuice." The first full-length trailer "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," partially filmed in Massachusetts last year, was released on Thursday, May 23.  The new film returns viewers to the Deetz family after the death of patriarch Charles Deetz (Jeffrey Jones in the original movie).
