Cody A. Balmer has pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro in a firebombing attack that endangered 22 people inside the Governor’s Mansion in Harrisburg, prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Balmer admitted to all charges, including attempted murder, aggravated arson, 22 counts of arson (one for each person endangered), burglary, and related offenses, according to Dauphin County District Attorney Fran Chardo.

A Worcester County jury has found Joshua Hubert guilty of kidnapping a 7-year-old girl, strangling her, and throwing her off an I-290 bridge into Lake Quinsigamond, authorities said.
Hubert, 43, of Worcester, was convicted of two counts of attempted murder, one count of strangulation, and one count of kidnapping a child on Thursday, Sept. 18. He was acquitted of two counts of aggravated rape in the 2017 attack, the Worcester County District Attorney said.
He faces up to 35 years in prison when Judge Karin Bell sentences him on Oct. 3, authorities said.
