Jackpot!: $1M Lottery Ticket Sold In Newton One Bay Stater had a life-changing moment on Saturday, Aug. 3, when they correctly guessed the numbers in a multi-state lottery and won $1 million.  The winner purchased a Powerball ticket in Newton and got all five drawn numbers right, but they missed the Powerball, which would have netted them more than $174 million.  The winning numbers were: 13, 33, 40, 60, and 61, with the Powerball being 20.  The winner's name has not been released.  The winning ticket was purchased at Quik Stop at 293 Watertown St. in Newton. The store will get $10,000 for the sale.  …

'Hate Has No Home' Here: Bomb Threat Didn't Stop Drag Queen Story Hour In Newton The New Art Center said it would not be bullied into changing its mission after receiving a bomb threat shortly before its planned Drag Queen Story Hour over the weekend.  The call came in just after 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, claiming that bombs placed on the roof of the 61 Washington Park building would "go boom" at 11 a.m., said New Art Executive Director Emily O’Neil in a news release.  The caller did not mention the event by name, but the Drag Queen Story Hour was set to begin at 11 a.m. And events like it have also been the target of protests and threats in the past.  …

$5,000 Bounty To Find Arsonist Who Torched ATV In Newton Police and fire investigators are asking for the public's help to determine who set an ATV on fire earlier this month, and they're offering a reward for any information leading to an arrest.  Newton firefighters received multiple 911 calls for a fire at 85 Dudley Road around 5:30 p.m. on June 1.
