A powerful storm system that swept through the region has now pushed off the coast, leading to a dry and pleasant Father's Day weekend before the first potential heat wave of the year. Highest Number Of Storms Ever Predicted For 2024 Hurricane Season
Get set for what could potentially be one of the most active hurricane seasons ever, according to a brand-new forecast by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) forecasters at the Climate Prediction Center. The outlook, released Thursday, May 23, predicts an 85 percent chance of an above-normal season, a 10 percent chance of a near-normal season, and a 5 percent chance of a below-normal season. Memorial Day is a week away, but now, long-range projections reveal what to expect weather-wise for the unofficial start of summer.
