Cause Released For 'Strange Smell' That Hospitalized West Newbury School Student One student was hospitalized and multiple students nauseated because of a strange odor reported at a Pentucket middle school in West Newbury. Seventh-grade students in a third-floor science lab reported a strange odor around 10:00 a.m. at Pentucket Middle School on Monday, May 1, according to the public relations team for fire and school districts.  Thirty-nine students were evaluated at the scene, six of whom complained of symptoms including nausea. Bird Brigade: West Newbury Officers Unite To Rescue Injured Bald Eagle Officers in West Newbury are being praised for their teamwork and meticulous efforts in saving an injured bald eagle over the weekend.  Sgt.
