A three-alarm fire claimed the life of a man who became the sixth older adult to die in a house fire in the past three weeks, officials say. A passerby spotted smoke emanating from a home at 2 Railroad Avenue around 4:10 a.m. on Friday, April 21, according to the Rowley Fire Department. Man Dies A Day After Being Burned In Methuen House Fire: Fire Marshal
A man who was hospitalized Friday night, April 14, after a fire broke out in the bedroom of his Methuen home has died, authorities said. Investigators believe smoking materials sparked the blaze on the third floor of the triple-decker at 97 Phillips St. Officials did not release the man's name. Methuen fire crews were called to the house just before 6 p.m. and saw smoke billowing from the third floor. They found a man inside on the floor and carried him to safety. : IDs Released For Victims Of Doubly Fatal Hopkinton Fire, DA Says
The identities of the married couple who died in a two fire-alarm have been released by officials, who have also ruled the fire not suspicious. Seldon MacNeill and Judith MacNeill both died because of the fire broke out at their home on Hayward Street in Hopkinton around 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, according to the Hopkinton Fire Department and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
