Owner Seeking Help After Vandals Cause $1K In Damage At Roller World In Saugus
A roller rink in Saugus is determined to not let vandals who caused $1,000 in damages skate by, says the rink's owner.
Roller World, located near Route 1, was forced to close on Saturday Dec. 3 after discovering that vandals broke a heavy steel panic bar on a door to the rink's lobby area.
The panic bar, with steel blocks on either end measuring about four to five inches thick, and its hinges were broken, said owner Gerry Breen.

Melrose Man Nabbed, Charged For Shooting That Wounded 2: Police
A 44-year-old man has been charged in connection with a double shooting in Melrose, authorities said.
Christopher Corcoran, of Melrose, was arrested for the shooting that happened in the area of 44 Waverly Place, off West Wyoming Drive, around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, Melrose Police Chief Michael Lyle reports.
Upon arrival, officers found two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds to their lower bodies. Both were taken to local hospitals for treatment and were later released, Lyle said.

Officers Find Drugs, Cash During Car Search At Winthrop Gas Station: Police
A search of a car landed two men in jail after police said they found drug paraphernalia, cash, and fentanyl.
Gaberial Arias, 30, of Saugus, and Patrice Debnam, 30, of Lynn, were arrested earlier this week after police went through Arias' car at a gas station on Monday, Sept. 26, Winthrop police said.
Officers had a search warrant for Arias' home and car from an ongoing investigation, and with the help of police in Everett and Saugus, they tracked down to a Gulf Gas station in Winthrop around 11 a.m., officials said. He was in Debnam's white Toyota Corolla.
