Boston Man, 28, Charged With Teen's Killing Near Playground 6 Months Later
Authorities in Boston say they have put handcuffs on the man responsible for a fatal shooting of a teen at a Roxbury playground over the summer.
Anthony Ramos, 28, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged this week with the killing of 19-year-old Tywon Meeks on July 6 at 5 Leyland Street, the Suffolk County District Attorney. He is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm.
Ramos was already in custody after police busted him last week on a firearms charge, the prosecutor added.

A 51-year-old man faces weapons and drug charges after he challenged a group of teens to a fight while waving a machete and an axe in Downtown Boston, police said.
Israel Silva, 51, of Roxbury, threatened to attack a group of teens and challenged them to fight shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 27, around the Temple Place area, according to Boston police.
Officers arrived and watched as Silva reached into his pocket and retrieved a small axe while holding a machete in his left hand, police said.
He continued to taunt the group of teens, who ran away in fear, police said.

A 65-year-old man who has been missing for days may be on a bus or train heading to Memphis, Tennessee, officials say.
Barry Hurd, of Roxbury, was last seen on Tuesday, April 4 in the area of 280 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to the Boston Police Department.

The unknown suspect broke into and entered a house in the area of 162 Highland Street in Roxbury in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 5, according to the Boston Police Department.

Police executed multiple search warrants in the area of 44 Lochdale Street, Roslindale around 12:00 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, according to the Boston Police Department. Double Arrest Made In Recent Boston Homicide
Two men have been arrested in connection with a recent homicide in Hyde Park, authorities said.
Pierre Valbrun, age 20, of Roxbury, and Jonathan Thebaud, age 32, of Brockton were wanted in connection with the shooting death of Trevor Sands on October 10, 2021, Boston Police said.
Officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 22 Ayles Road in Hyde Park, where they found Sands suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
