Shark Spotted Off Coast Of Nahant Beach, Swimmers Warned
The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation is warning beachgoers at Nahant to be aware after a shark was spotted near the beach on Monday, Sept. 12. The agency tweeted that purple flags are up at the Nahant Beach Reservation to warn swimmers about the danger as the lifeguard service has ended for the season. Great White Shark Spotted Off The North Shore
It appears the heat wave has attracted sharks to the North Shore. According to the Sharktivity app, a Great White shark was spotted close to Plum Island on the morning of Monday, July 25. The Sharktivity App tracks sightings backed by researchers, safety officials and people who use the app to upload photos for confirmation. Each sighting is verified by the New England Aquarium.
