A 67-year-old Middlesex County man was identified as the worker who was killed when a rock ledge fell on Thursday, Aug. 22, and crushed an excavator at a Massachusetts quarry. Brian Curtis Derby, 67, of Townsend, died just before 8 a.m. when the rocks fell on his heavy machinery at the Sterling quarry along Stone Crest Way, the Worcester County District Attorney said. A worker at a Worcester County rock quarry was killed on Thursday, Aug. 22, when a rock ledge collapsed on his excavator, authorities said. A worker at an AT&T facility in Cambridge died after being electrocuted early Tuesday, Nov. 7, authorities said. Responding officers found a 44-year-old Sturbridge man lying on the ground at 250 Bent St. around 8:30 a.m., according to Cambridge Police. A man killed in a quarry accident was identified as the owner of an Essex County construction company, officials and reports say. Christopher Perry, 37, of Lynn, died on Monday, July 17 while cleaning a malfunctioning rock crusher suspended above a quarry located at 30 Danvers Road in Swampscott, according to the Essex County District Attorney.
