Malden Eatery With 15-Year History Closes, Community Mourns, Shares Memories
A Middlesex County restaurant and bar announced that it would close its doors for the last time, sparking an outpouring of shared fond memories and good times.
John Brewer's Tavern, an American-style restaurant and bar with three eastern Massachusetts locations, announced on Facebook that it would close its Malden restaurant, located at 7 Highland Avenue, at the end of the day on Monday, July 24.
"Closing is not an easy thing to do, but it is the right decision at this time, for our family and our other locations," wrote owners Bill and Sue Honeycutt in a Facebook post.

A woman, who has not yet been identified, died in a two-car crash on I-93 southbound in Wilmington on Sunday, July 16 after a 2008 Honda Civic sedan hydroplaned into a pickup truck, according to Massachusetts State Police.
