The Skyfari ride at Southwick’s Zoo—which offers guests a scenic aerial view of the sprawling Mendon park—unexpectedly halted on Monday, July 21, leaving passengers suspended above the ground. Flooding, Power Outages Plague Mass After Storms Pummel Northeast Heavy downpours led to widespread flooding and power outages across eastern Massachusetts on Monday, Dec. 18, and it could be days before authorities can restore electricity to all homes.  More than 270,000 people were left without power as of Monday afternoon, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) said. Bad weather also led to more than 200 flight cancellations at Boston Logan Airport, according to FlightAware, with more than a third of flights coming to or leaving from the airport delayed.
