A power bank charger exploded while in a New Jersey student's pocket, sending them to the hospital on Friday, Jan. 9, authorities said. At 1:05 p.m., law enforcement responded after the charger exploded at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School, authorities said. The 14-year-old student was walking in a hallway near the main cafeteria at the time of the malfunction, police said. A plane crashed and exploded near a retirement community in Lancaster County, injuring multiple people and triggering a massive emergency response on Sunday, March 9, officials said. Over two dozen 911 calls reported seven utility poles falling over simultaneously, an incident which caused one person to be trapped in his vehicle, officials say. Montvale Avenue is expected to be closed for an extended period of time after the utility poles fell over around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, according to a joint statement from the Stoneham Police Department and the Stoneham Fire Department. More than 100 patients were evacuated after a multi-alarm fire broke out at a Brockton hospital, fire officials said. The fire broke out at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital located at 680 Centre Street in Brockton, just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, the hospital confirmed in a statement.
