The Springfield Police Commissioner Christy Torres stepped down on Tuesday, Jan. 16, soon after police raided her home and arrested a wanted fugitive — her son — on gun and drug charges, authorities said. Another son was arrested last year after firing an illegal pistol at an oncoming car in the parking lot of a dentist's office, police have said. An 18-year-old drove a motorcycle away from police with a t-shirt covering his face to try and protect his identity, officials say. Jayden Lepore, of Whitman, was arrested along with an unnamed juvenile person also from Whitman on Wednesday, June 27 in East Bridgewater, according to the Whitman Police Department. A 27-year-old Brookline man appeared to be moving more than just his personal belongings when police arrested him for crashing his U-Haul in Cambridge this week, according to authorities. Alejandro Trigo is facing several charges after officers found him in possession of fentanyl and a ghost gun after he crashed his van into a light pole and tree on Rindge Avenue, Cambridge Police report. Investigators said they found a stash of guns, armor, and ammunition at an apartment in Boston after they arrested a man late last week on charges of having a pistol police couldn't trace, authorities said. Jhovanni Jackson, 23, faces multiple weapons and ammunition charges after police searched his home this weekend and found the guns and armor, the Suffolk County District Attorney. A 22-year-old man from Peabody has been charged with allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a woman while simultaneously possessing a ghost gun, the Middlesex County District Attorney's office said. A 30-year-old Lawrence man had a ghost gun in his backpack when he attacked two construction workers for no reason at an MBTA station earlier this week, police said.
