Police have identified the man who was hit by a cement truck as he crossed the street on Tuesday, April 2, in South Boston and have released some preliminary findings from their investigation. Fernando R. Pizarro, 57, who was last listed as homeless has been named as the victim in the crash near Traveler Street and Frontage Road just after 10 a.m., State Police said. A Quincy man thought he could escape police in South Boston, but he didn't make it far after crashing into the side of a home, authorities said. Cedric Fortune, 21, of Quincy, is facing several felonies following the Thursday night, Dec. 21, chase and crash, Massachusetts State Police said.
