The FBI arrested a retired Boston police officer on Thursday, March 30, and charged him with taking part in the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol, including assaulting a police officer with a chair during the melee, authorities said.
Joseph Fisher, 52, is charged with felony counts of obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder and assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers, among other charges, according to court documents released by NBC News.

A former Lynn man who was wanted for more than ten years on child pornography and child rape charges was arrested this week in the Dominican Republic, authorities announced.
Melchor Datu, 51, a Filipino native, fled the country after he was indicted on child porn charges in December 2012, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Since then, the FBI has had an award for his capture. Last year, the agency upped the amount to $10,000.
Investigators said they found child pornography on Datu's laptop and two external hard drives at his home in October 2008.

Thomas Davis, 42, of Mansfield, pleaded guilty on Wednesday, Feb. 8, to one count of receiving child pornography, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He faces a minimum of five years behind bars and up to two decades.

A judge sentenced a Manchester, NH, man who pleaded guilty to robbing banks in Massachusetts and New Hampshire to nearly five years in prison, authorities said.
Eric Mohan, 48, was accused of six bank robberies — including one Tewksbury bank twice — during a three-month spree that began in February, the US Attorney for New Hampshire said. He confessed to the crimes in September.
