Ex-Malden Firefighter Avoids Jailtime After Admitting To Selling Drugs
A judge ruled this week that a former Malden firefighter who admitted to illegally selling prescription narcotics won't serve any jail time, federal authorities said. Joshua Eisnor, 43, of North Reading, was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and forfeit $900, the amount authorities said he made dealing drugs, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He pleaded guilty to a single count of conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances in June. Eisnor faced up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Former Northeastern Employee Charged With Fabricating Explosive Package Incident
A former employee has been arrested and charged in connection with fabricating an explosion package incident at Northeastern University last month, authorities said. Jason Duhaime was arrested at his home in San Antonio, TX for lying to prosecutors in connection with the incident that happened on Tuesday, Sept. 13, FBI Boston and US Attorney Rachael Rollins report. Duhaime was recently hired to work at the university as a new technology manager of the Immersive Media Lab, according to his Northeastern biography. Westfield Woman Called In Bomb Threat Hoax To Children's Hospital: FBI
FBI agents arrested a Westfield woman on Thursday, Sept. 15, in connection with a bomb threat called into Boston Children's Hospital late last month. Catherine Leavy, 37, is charged with making a false telephonic bomb threat for the Aug. 30 call, which forced police to lock down the area, federal authorities announced and a press conference. A staff member has been injured after opening an explosive package at Northeastern University, authorities said. Police received a call about an explosion at 39 Leon Street around 7:18 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, Boston Police said during a press conference later that evening.
